What is the Experience?

Join us for an unforgettable two hours sailing. A unique opportunity to participate as crew on an actual America’s Cup sailing yacht. Take the helm, exert energy on the grinders or simply sit back and enjoy the ride as we sail the beautiful Waitemata Harbour.

The America’s Cup is the world’s oldest and most prestigious sporting trophy and ultimate yachting regatta. Usually the domain of billionaires and elite professional yachties, NZL 40 and NZL 41 offer the unique opportunity for everyone to participate sailing on these grand prix racing machines.

With the America’s Cup being sailed here in 2000 and 2003, no trip is complete without experiencing the real Auckland, ‘City of Sails’.

Suitability & Guidelines

Venue:

Auckland.

Session Length

Available all year round. Sailing at least once per day, times vary due to tides and prior bookings. Allow 2hrs for this experience.

Guidelines:

No experience is necessary. Not suitable for children under 10, pregnant women or people with medical disabilities, wheelchairs can be accommodated with favourable weather. Please consult skipper prior to departure.

Numbers:

Each yacht is surveyed for a maximum of 30 passengers however as boat fills more sailings are added to spread passengers throughout the day.

Weather:

NZL 40 and NZL 41 sail in all but the most extreme weather. It is rare to have to cancel a sailing because of too much wind. Likewise no wind is a very rare problem. In the event trip is cancelled, we will re-schedule to suit your availability.
